Educreations and Numbers 1-20

What is a fun way to get antsy four and five year old students to practice counting, writing and speaking their numbers 1-20? One way is have each student use their iPad to take pictures of objects around the classroom in the amounts for each number. This is what Mrs. LaPaugh and Ms. Chapman did with their Young-5's class in conjunction with their 4th grade buddies.

These students found or created groups of objects in the numbers 1-20. They then would sort, count and take a picture of these objects. The students then imported the pictures into the Educreations app to add their own drawings of each number on top of the picture.

Glen Lake has purchased a district subscription to Educreations. This allows the teachers to instantly see all the Educreations videos that the students create on their individual iPads from one dashboard on the teacher's computer. Not only is management of student work much easier with the subscription, but the teacher can also send a teacher-created Educreation video to each student via their iPad. Check out the example project below from one of our Young 5'ers. Great job James!
